Gourmet Burger Kitchen adds Sainsbury's to client list
Gourmet Burger Kitchen has secured listings for its chilled fresh burgers in more than 100 Sainsbury’s stores.
The double pack burgers have been available in Waitrose and Ocado since 2011 and 2014 respectively, with sales growing every year to the level of over £1.3m in the last 52 weeks.
Laura Mallon, senior brand account manager at All About Food, which licenses the Gourmet Burger Kitchen brand, said: “Shoppers expect the same size and flavours on the supermarket shelf as they experience in their favourite restaurants, which is why Gourmet Burger Kitchen is proving so popular. The expansion into Sainsbury’s means that more people will now be able to enjoy restaurant-quality burgers in their own homes.”
To celebrate the listing in Sainsbury’s stores, the brand is running an on-pack promotion with thousands of prizes to be won. Codes on each pack are redeemed online, with Gourmet Burger Kitchen reward prizes ranging from servings of fries and onion rings in Gourmet Burger Kitchen restaurants through to £250 gift cards. More than 20,000 packs will contain winning codes.
Mallon added: “This is the first promotion where shoppers are able to redeem prizes in the restaurants, cementing the relationship between retail and restaurants.”
