Finalists announced for Chefs’ Choice Awards
Finalists have been announced for the Chefs’ Choice Awards, created by Meat Trades Journal’s sister title The Grocer, in association with Food Innovation Solutions, to showcase the best work of foodservice suppliers.
Brakes and Booker are vying for the crown in the Beef and Poultry categories, while Booker and Bestway are battling for supremacy in Lamb and Pork.
A panel of expert chefs, nutritionists, food technologists and development chefs completed judging in January for the awards, also supported by William Reed brands Restaurant, Morning Advertiser and Food Manufacture.
Chefs first judged frozen, fresh and chilled product entries across 19 categories for ease and speed of preparation. They then passed them on to the wider judging panels, which assessed them for appearance, aroma, flavour, texture, value and innovation.
Category winners and highly recommended products will be announced at the inaugural networking awards evening on 7 March at the stylish Haymarket Hotel in London. They will win the right to use Chefs’ Choice endorsement logos in marketing activity and on packaging materials for free.
