Quality Standard Mark Lamb showcased at Gulfood
British Quality Standard Mark Lamb has enjoyed a presence at an international trade show in Dubai this past week.
Taking place between 26 February and 2 March, Gulfood sees 5,000 companies from 90 countries attend one of the world’s leading food and beverage trade shows, held at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
A selection of lamb products will be on display at the Agriculture & Horticulture Development Board’s (AHDB) export meat stand.
“Gulfood not only involves trade with the United Arab Emirates, but is the meeting point for the wider region meaning Africa, the Near East, the Middle East, India and south-east Asia,” said Jean-Pierre Garnier, AHDB head of exports.
“The show provides a valuable platform for trading, as well as the opportunity to showcase products such as lamb, processed lamb dishes and speciality cheeses for the Emirati market. For the first time, AHDB will be present with two stands in the new meat and dairy halls. We have highlighted the UAE as a priority market for dairy exports and are aiming to grow our market share of the large Emirati cheese market. The UAE economy is growing rapidly providing expanding markets for important lamb and dairy products.”
The trade show will this year include Halal World Food, a specialist show that covers all of the halal-related aspects of the international foodservice, retail and hospitality sectors, designed to highlight global halal products. Government officials, international heads of state and ministries are also expected to be in attendance, including the UK’s Minister of State for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, George Eustice.
