Tesco recalls beef bolognese

Tesco has issued a recall notice for its frozen beef Tesco Spaghetti Bolognese 400g, due to undeclared egg.

The recall affects all date codes as the product poses a health risk to anyone who has an intolerance to egg, which is not labelled on the packaging.

Point-of-sale notices have been issued across its stores, explaining to customers why the product is being recalled and what to do if the product has been bought.

“We have detected that some of this product may contain low levels of egg and as such will have the incorrect allergen information on the packaging,” said the retailer.

“Please return the affected products to store where a full refund will be given. No receipt is required. Tesco apologises to our customers for any inconvenience caused.”

No other Tesco products are known to be affected.
