I’ll have a pizza that: MuscleFoods launches four new products

Four guilt-free pizzas that contain a third of the calories found in similar supermarket products have been launched by lean meats online retailer MuscleFoods.com.

The diet pizza range includes four products – chicken tikka, goat’s cheese, Mediterranean vegetable and margarita – all of which are under 400 calories.

MuscleFoods.com has been able to make such a low-calorie pizza by producing a base fortified with pea protein, rather than dough.

Darren Beale, director at MuscleFoods.com, said the first batch of the Diet Pizza range sold out in two days, demonstrating dieting UK consumers will not give up pizza easily.

“The calorie count of takeaway pizzas is well into the thousands, so it’s great that we are able to offer an alternative that means people can keep in shape without giving up the food they love,” said Beale.

“We wanted to create a pizza for dieters and those following a healthy eating plan, which tastes and looks as good as anything you’d order from a takeaway without all the fat, carbohydrates and calories.

“We developed three tasty toppings that are low in calories and high in taste and hope to add more to the range if these prove popular.”

All pizzas in the range are 10 inches, high in protein, naturally gluten-free and contain less than half a teaspoon of fat.

They cost £3.95 and can be bought online.
