MuscleFood bulks out for summer with frozen chicken range

Health and fitness retailer MuscleFood.com has launched seven flavours of chicken ready meals in time for summer.

Launching in convenience stores across the UK, and exclusively in Musgrave’s SuperValu stores in Ireland, the range of meals have been inspired by Asian flavours and are high in protein.

Targeting the health and fitness market, the range includes: sweet chilli chicken; Thai green chicken; satay chicken; BBQ chicken; chilli black bean chicken; tikka chicken; and original chicken and rice.

MuscleFood’s healthy chicken range come in 350g microwaveable pots and contain steamed rice, 100% chicken breasts and can be cooked from frozen in just six minutes.

Tapping into the fitness trend, the products contain less than 500 calories and up to 43g of protein - designed as an option for those that are watching their weight. The meals are also low in fat, sugar and salt, and contain natural ingredients with no additives.

The launch is the latest of MuscleFood’s products that are part of the Live Clean ready meal range, which includes protein pizzas. Since the launch of the pizza two years ago, they have gone on to become one of the firm’s biggest sellers.

“We’re very excited about this addition to the Musclefood range and the options it offers the increasingly health-conscious UK frozen food consumer,” said John Chater, retail director at MuslceFood.com.

“From day one MuscleFood has been all about providing customers with products that make healthy living easy, and give them choice. The new Asian-style rice pots are unqiue to the UK market and offer a nutritious meal that fits with peoples’ busy lifestyles whether they’re watching their weight or need to grab a meal on the go.

“They work as a quick meal at home or as a weekday work lunch. Added to that, our experts have made sure they’re well balanced and packed with protein which helps keep you fuller for longer.”
