Aldi caters to convenience market

Discounter Aldi has expanded its audience reach by launching four new meat-based ready-to-cook options. 

The meals are part of the retailers ‘Ready, Set, Cook!’ range, which is now made up of seven convenience solutions.

Available as of today (Thursday, 27 July), the products include: Chicken Tikka; Chicken Fajita; Barbecue Stir Fry; and Beef Stroganoff. All the meals are £2.99, apart from the Beef Stroganoff, which is available at £3.99.

“Our Ready Set Cook kits are perfect for our customers who want to eat a healthy, fresh meal but don’t have time to prepare one from scratch,” said Tony Baines, joint managing director of corporate buying at Aldi UK. “With seven enticing products now on offer, customers have enough choice for a different meal every night.”

Catering to customers’ busy lifestyles, each meal can be prepared in less than 15 minutes. The meat used to produce the meals includes 100% British chicken, Red Tractor Assured pork and Red Tractor Assured beef.

Baines added: “Aldi is committed to offering premium-quality products at amazing low prices, allowing customers to make substantial savings on luxury equivalents without compromise.”
