BDCI to reveal new initiative at Festival Dinner

The Butchers’ and Drovers’ Charitable Institute (BDCI) is to reveal a major new initiative for the charity at this year’s annual Festival Dinner, which will take place on Friday 20 October in The Great Room at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel.

The event will be hosted by comedian and actor Brian Conley. As well as music from party band, The Vanity Killers, there will be a charity auction and raffle.

Last year’s Festival Dinner was successful for the BDCI. Ted Hoefling, BDCI treasurer said he predicted this year’s event, chaired by Julien Pursglove, would be a similar success.

“The Festival Dinner in 2016 raised a very welcome £45,000 for BDCI. The Dinner is our main fund-raising event each year, and helps us to provide the support to the trade so welcomed and appreciated by beneficiaries. We have no doubt Julien will follow previous Festival Chairmen in raising funds.”

Earlier this year, the BDCI held a clay pigeon shooting day in Shropshire to raise money for the charity. The result in the team competition was: 1st Cranswick; 2nd Interfood Technology; 3rd Dunbia; with High Gun Dave Carrie and Tory Carlisle Lady High Gun. In the Flush the honours went to: 1st Dunbia; 2nd Cranswick; and 3rd Staffordshire Oatcakes.
