Butcher awarded five stars

An independent butcher in Worcester has been awarded top marks by health inspectors.

H Dayus Family Butchers has been awarded a five-star rating by Worcester City Council in the council's 'Scores on the Doors' scheme.

H Dayus is the only butchers in the city to receive top marks so far.

Businesses are rated on quality of staff training, quality of suppliers, hygiene and facilities.

Shop manager Tristan Meier said the shop now plans a series of photographs to show all the shop procedures. He said: "When people come in the shop they cannot see the back rooms, where we prepare everything.

"With photographs, we'll be able to show people the sausage-making process, show them that we do make our own produce and that it's all done in-store."
