Yorkshire Dales Meat signs Asda meatball deal

A Yorkshire meat supplier was celebrating after landing a deal to extend its offer into one of the UK’s leading supermarkets.

Yorkshire Dales Meat has been supplying Asda with its handmade lamb and mint and beef burgers since July 2009, but it has now signed a deal to add meatballs to the range.

The move is yet another success for the North Yorkshire based catering butcher, which also supply handmade burgers and sausages into Morrison’s stores throughout Yorkshire. The company said it was planning to branch out by supplying supermarkets with a larger range of products.

Stephen Knox, managing director, said: “We started supplying burgers into the supermarkets this summer and we were looking to extend the range with a product for the winter months. With people preferring healthier meal time options, meatballs with pasta are an easy and nutritious choice.

“We have also invested in an entire re-brand of the company image, from improved livery on our fleet of vans to new packaging for our retail products. The designs we have chosen represent Yorkshire Dales Meat Company’s traditional values as a family run business.”
