Kerry Foods unveils latest marketing

Mattessons, part of Kerry Foods, has introduced new limited-edition Piri Piri Fridge Raiders — 100% chicken breast mixed with a blend of Portuguese spices with a warming chilli undertone.

The new line has been launched following Kerry Foods' research into consumer choice. The piri piri flavour consistently featured in the top three consumer recommendations and was put up against fajita flavour in a Facebook head-to-head vote, with a huge 82% majority of Mattessons Facebook fans voting in favour of the Portuguese spice.

Chris Owen, Kerry Foods senior brands manager, said: “At Mattessons we are continually innovating our product and responding to the evolving needs of our consumers. The introduction of new flavours has been incremental to the growth of the Mattessons brand, contributing to 20% of sales.”

• In related news, Kerry Group’s Richmond Sausages will launch its new on-pack promotional offer with kitchenware giant Tefal, with £150,000 worth of Tefal products and kitchen accessories on offer.

The on-pack promotion, which will run until May 2011, is a points-based system, which will offer consumers a variety of Tefal products and other kitchen accessories. The more points accumulated by the consumer, the larger the prize.
