Butchers' Fair going strong
Published:  24 June, 2011

Exhibitors are lining up to make the most of MTJ’s popular Butcher’s Fair in Bolton this autumn, following the runaway success of the specialist exhibition in the spring.

Butchers from across the south, and even as far afield as Cornwall, East Anglia and Northern Ireland, travelled to Newbury racecourse in April for the first-ever Butchers’ Fair, held in conjunction with the established Bakers’ Fair.

Work is now under way to build on that success for the second event in Bolton on 2 October, with a number of events and contests, including MTJ’s well-established Champion of Champions sausage competition.

Ed Bedington, editor of MTJ, said: “Both the butchers who visited and the exhibitors who took part in Newbury were delighted with the event, describing it as buzzing and vibrant.

“It’s wonderful to be able to offer a focused, relevant show for the independent sector, which really provides something of value.

“Bolton is already seeing exhibitors sign up in droves, and anyone looking to showcase their company to the independent trade should sign up soon or risk missing out.”
