A barbecue SOS service has been launched to help amateur chefs get the best out of the summer grilling.

A team of experts will be available on micro-blogging site, Twitter, to answer questions, give recipe advice and top tips.

The service has been launched as part of the Beat My Barbecue cook-off challenge, launched by Red Tractor beef and lamb and backed by Eblex. It aims to encourage people to be more ambitious in their barbecuing and ultimately choose quality beef and lamb for their cooking.

The real-time SOS service can be found on Twitter at @BBQ_SOS.
