British Turkey Awards shortlist announced
Published:  04 August, 2011

The shortlist of this year’s British Turkey Awards 2011 has been announced, which celebrates the diversity and innovation of turkey products on the market.

An independent panel, which included an experienced food journalist, and catering expert as well as three consumers, judged the products on taste, value for money and suitability for the target market.

Lorna Cousins, chair of the British Turkey Federation’s marketing committee, said: “Judging this year was no easy task. Manufacturers are producing some really great products in all the sectors. Turkey is of course the perfect meat for Christmas and carveries, but categories like Best Ready-to-Eat and Best Meal Solution ensure turkey is a regular contender in the weekly shop.
