2 Sisters appoints Molson Coors CEO to board

Poultry processor 2 Sisters has appointed the chief executive of Molson Coors (UK), Mark Hunter, as a non-executive director and chair of the renumeration committee.

Hunter brings solid experience in sales, marketing and brand development. As well as his roles at Molson Coors, Bass Brewing and Carling Lager, he was appointed as president of the Incorporated Society of British Advertisers in 2009.

Charles Allen, chairman of 2 Sisters Food Group, said: “I am delighted that we have secured Mark’s appointment to the Board of 2 Sisters Food Group.
“Mark is a strong leader who has excelled in a variety of management roles during his career.  He brings a wide range of experience in sales, marketing and brand development and will provide valuable counsel to the Board and to the management teams as we work to grow our business over the coming years.”

Last month 2 Sisters announced the appointment of Allen, the former CEO of ITV, as the new non-executive chairman of the group following his work as an adviser during the company’s buyout of Northern Foods in March.

The company posted disappointing annual results, with pre-tax profits falling by 8% over the 52 weeks to 31 July 2010, despite an increase in turnover. The company has plans to develop £3bn of sales by 2015.
