Peter’s launches ‘energetic’ pies

Innovative pie company Peter’s Pies has teamed up with energy drink maker Red Bull to create a deep-filled meat pie, which is infused with the popular drink.

The Bull and Red Bull pies are being tested by 13,000 existing customers throughout the UK. If the pies are popular, the Wales-based company plans to launch a series of 220g ‘specials’, which will retail at Ł2.49.  

Neil Court-Johnston, managing director of Peter’s Pies said: “Peter’s has always been an innovative pie company and we are determined to remain at the forefront of new ideas, with products that not only turn heads but taste incredible. I can honestly say that this pie ticks all those boxes and we are genuinely excited about rolling this out.”
Peter’s Pies has previously produced limited editional sesaonal products such as Valentine's and Hot Cross Pies, and confirmed that it will look into introducing other seasonal products. It brought out a range of ‘bigger and better’ pies in November 2011, which were 30% larger, but retailed at the same prices as the pies they replaced. The pies, which are wrapped in a heatproof film to ensure that the pastry stays crunchy, introduced new flavours, including steak, steak and kidney, minced beef and onion, chicken and mushroom, and meat and potato.

Last summer, Peter’s Pies teamed up with pub operator Greene King to provide fresh hot pies to non-food selling pubs, by offering a branded bar-top pie cabinet and delivery service to help pubs maximise profits with a simple and popular food offering.
