Global spotlight for Outlook conference

The global food supply situation will be under the spotlight at the annual Outlook conference in London next month.

Some of the UK’s leading experts from the beef, lamb, pig and dairy sectors will be discussing the main issues affecting the industry and projections for the future at the event, which is jointly organised by Bpex, Eblex and DairyCo.

Established more than a decade ago, the event, which takes place at One Great George Street on 2 May, will see two keynote speeches, from Allan Wilkinson, head of agriculture at HSBC, and Giles Quick, director of Kantar Worldpanel, before breakout sessions to allow delegates to discuss sector specific forecasts and issues.

AHDB Market Intelligence director Ken Boyns said: “It is a critical time for the red meat and dairy sectors. Uncertain global supply, rising costs of production, pressure on consumer prices and a changing world market will all be covered on the day.

“The aim is to leave delegates with a broader view of the markets to inform their business decisions for the rest of 2012 and beyond.”
