Details for the 2013 Outlook Conference, which is scheduled to take place on 13  February, have been finalised, organisers Eblex, Bpex and DairCo have announced.

The conference will bring forecasts for beef, lamb and pig production for the coming year into sharp focus. There will be presentations on global and economic trends, as well as price volatility and the outlook for feed prices, with a series of sector-specific forecasting sessions, which will consider the short- and medium-term market outlook.

A cattle and sheep breakout session will be introduced by Eblex chairman John Cross and will include production forecasts for the year ahead, along with a break-out sessions for the pig sector, which will examine the impact of the big issues facing the sector, including feed prices, new EU welfare regulations and rising demand from emerging markets.

Senior analyst at Eblex/AHDB Debbie Butcher said: “Beef and lamb production in 2013 is a key topic for our sector. The Outlook conference will provide the ideal platform for those in the industry to discuss the production forecasts and share their thoughts as we move into the new year.”
