FSA launches review into its own response on horsemeat

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) board has announced that a review into the FSA’s response to the horsemeat scandal will be launched.

Following its board meeting today (17 April), vice-chair of Cambridge University Hospitals Professor Pat Troop has been appointed the head of the independent review.

Troop will gain unrestricted access to FSA’s documents on the horsemeat scandal, FSA board members and officials.

The review will be presented on 4 June, but a formal report will not be submitted to the FSA until the end of June, when it is ready for publication.
