HCC presents programme for annual conference

The programme for the annual Hybu Cig Cymru (HCC) conference has been announced, revealing that it will address the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) reform and the challenges facing the global meat industry.

The programme will see a broad range of speakers touching on subjects such as the growing appeal for Welsh Lamb, farming methods in France and the US and the latest trends in the sector.

Speakers will range from the director of Agriculture, Food and Marine in the Welsh government Andrew Slade, who will discuss CAP, to the International Meat Secretariat and several HCC employees.

Hsin Huang, secretary general of the International Meat Secretariat, will provide a global perspective of red meat and its challenges, while winner of HCC scholarship Alison Jones will examine US and French farming methods.

HCC’s export agent in Germany Patricia Czerniak will discuss her role and the growing appeal for Welsh red meat, while the company’s industry development manager Sion Aron Jones will delve into issues such as how to increase shelf-life.

The conference will be held at Aberystwyth Arts Centre on 14 November.
