Farmhouse Fare takes pie championship
Published:  09 December, 2013

The Great Northern Pork Pie competition saw Farmhouse Fare in Skipton win its fourth successive championship.

The business won the prize at the fifth annual competition, which ran alongside the 2013 Christmas primestock shows at Skipton Auction Mart.

The daughter of the founder of Farmhouse Fare Janet Green dedicated the award in honour of her late father, Ted Lee, who died earlier this year.

Farmhouse Fare sells the pies through its retail shop in Skiptonís high street and also became the runner-up in the speciality pie class and third in a new sausage roll competition.

Robinsons Farm Shop in Halifax was awarded the Reserve Pork Pie championship with its traditional pork pie, and the Speciality Pie first prize winner was Lunds Family Butchers in Keighley.

Meanwhile, other winners included Haighs Farm Shop, J Brindon Addy Butchers and Two Valleys Fresh Produce, among others.
