The 2006 Meat Industry Awards is bang on target with all votes now counted and a wide range of products entered for judging and evaluation. Organiser Mandy Parker reports enthusiastically about this year's event: "We have been delighted with the response from right across the industry again this year. We have been supported by a diverse range of companies large and small and some of the results will delight and possibly surprise our expected 400 guests at the Awards' dinner on 30th November. We will also announce the coveted Industry Personality of the Year award on the night".

Now in its 8th year, the Awards are backed by a wide range of industry sponsors. Ian Mackway of Raps (UK) which sponsor the best poultry product category said: "The Awards dinner is one of the very best nights of the year. Anyone who is anyone tends to be there and we have always felt that it is important to be involved. It's a superb evening for networking with both customers and colleagues, and I am sure the 2006 awards dinner will be no exception."

Andrew Garvey the head of marketing at EBLEX was also positive: "We are delighted to be involved with the Meat Industry Awards. It is a highly professional event and recognises excellence throughout the UK industry. We sponsor the Best Independent Retailer Category and it never ceases to amaze everyone just how innovative many of the country's butchers can be. We are looking forward to another splendid evening on 30th November."

Marketing director of the Danish Bacon & Meat Council, John Howard sums up: "The Meat Industry Awards is quite simply a blue chip event not to be missed. We have been involved from day one and would not miss it. The Sheraton Hotel in Park Lane always does a great job and it is a great pleasure to support an event that accentuates the positive in our industry and not the negative".
