Up to 50 meat processing workers are set to lose their jobs in Norfolk following a company restructuring.

Management at PPCS Brooks at Little Melton near Norwich say that the company is scaling back its operation at the plant and as result the current employee figure of 200 will have to be reduced.

The company has indicated it plans to sell the 20acre site and then lease back part of it.

The company, founded by Norfolk farmer Barry Brooks in 1971, has been owned by PPCS, a major New Zealand meat marketing co-operative, since 1998.
