Eblex conference to look at meat quality and hygiene

Eblex is hosting a processor conference on 6 March, at which meat quality and hygiene regulations will be discussed.

During the free event, changes to the EU and UK meat hygiene regulations are due to be examined by the Food Standards Agency’s (FSA’s) deputy veterinary director Javier Dominguez.

Head of meat science at Texas A&M University Professor Jeff Savell will be speaking about the issues faced within the American meat industry.

The conference will also cover how to improve health and welfare through technology, in addition to electrical inputs and the impact on meat quality.

Eblex senior southern regional manager Dr Phil Hadley said: “Our inaugural processor conference in 2012 proved very popular with delegates as a platform to discuss key industry issues. This year’s event will again provide them with the ideal opportunity to examine pressing matters in the processing sector.”
