O’Doherty’s wins Burger of the Year Award 2014

O’Doherty’s Fine Meats, based in Enniskillen, Co Fermanagh, has won the Speciality Burger of the Year 2014 award for its lamb and anchovy burger. The Burger of the Year award, which coincided with National Butchers’ Week, was held at this year’s Food & Drink Expo 2014/Farmshop & Deli Show at Birmingham’s NEC.

“This is a tremendous award for us because it is the industry’s recognition of the quality, taste and innovation of our unique lamb and anchovy burger,” said Pat O’Doherty, owner and manager of the Northern Irish business.

“The new burger is the latest from our ongoing new product development programme and reflects our commitment to the creation of new taste experiences”.

Among the award-winning products developed by O’Doherty’s are its Fermanagh black bacon and Fermanagh black corned beef. The business prides itself on innovation and also successfully launched Ireland’s first black pudding festival last year.
