Welsh Lamb presented at NATO dinner

Welsh Lamb was the centrepiece of a NATO dinner which was served to 2,000 ambassadors and diplomats in Brussels.

Hybu Cig Cymru - Meat Promotion Wales (HCC) reported that officials from 28 NATO member nations were served Welsh Lamb at an event intended to promote the country ahead of the Wales Summit in Newport in September. The HCC marketing team also attended the dinner this week to discuss the product with the attendees and to promote Welsh lamb to foreign markets.

HCC hopes the dinner will increase global demand for Welsh meat and Laura Pickup, market development manager at HCC, said the event was an “ideal opportunity to further showcase the excellent quality of PGI [Protected Geographical Indication] Welsh Lamb to an influential audience from our fellow NATO countries”.
