Welsh meat body uses show to offer livestock advice

Expert advice on a wide range of livestock issues will be available to farmers at the Hybu Cig Cymru - Meat Promotion Wales (HCC) stand during the Royal Welsh Show.

The show will run from 21-24 July in Builth Wells, Powys, and information for farmers will be on offer at HCC’s industry development stand, located within the National Sheep Association building.

Livestock protein feeds as alternatives to soya will be on display, including rapeseed, beans and dark distillers grains. HCC will have a range of materials at the show, with 50 technical manuals and booklets available to take away free of charge. These include a booklet on beef finishing systems, and the latest edition of HCC’s Little Book of Meat Facts.

There will also be two competitions, in which entrants can attempt to classify lamb carcases and identify various cuts of meat.

HCC will have plenty on the consumer-facing side as well, with celebrity chefs Bryn Williams, Cyrus Todiwala and Dudley Newbery all lining up live on its stand during the event.
