FSA launches e-newsletter on campylobacter

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has launched an Acting on Campylobacter Together (ACT) e-newsletter.

The newsletter aims to bring together information on the government and industry-wide campaign to tackle campylobacter from farm to fork. It is the latest addition to the FSA’s campaign to reduce campylobacter contamination in UK-produced chickens. The organisation said it was looking to “capture the good work taking place”.

The FSA has appealed for articles for future editions, “so if you have a story to tell about how you are tackling campylobacter, then we want to hear about it and share your progress”, it said. Articles can be sent to campyresearch@foodstandards.gsi.gov.uk.

The first edition looks at free on-farm campylobacter testing; latest FSA survey results; Faccenda SonoSteam trials; the Joint Working Group in Campylobacter; and the Campylobacter Abattoir Campaign. The content can be viewed at here.
