Innovation conference launched

A new conference promoting innovation in the food and drink manufacturing industries has been launched.

New Frontiers in Food and Drink, will look at the future of food and drink manufacturing, with talks on new innovations such as 3D printing, insects as food, packaging and product fortification.

The day involves presentations, taste testing and break out sessions with some of the most innovative thinkers in food and drink.

A keynote speech will be delivered by food futuroligist Doctor Morgain Gaye. Gaye looks at food and eating from a social, cultural, economic, trend, branding and geo-political perspective. In her presentation she will look at what innovations will impact the food and drink indsutries.

She will be joined by Doctor Roberta, a leading nutrition research manger at Leatherhead Food Research, who will lead a roundtable discussion on ‘functional foods - hype or happening?’ and Professor Judith Buttriss, director of the British Nutrition Foundation who is set to talk on product fortification.

Other speakers include Charles Spence, Professor of Experimental Psychology, University of Oxford, Professor Arnold van Huis, Tropical Entomologist, Laboratory of Entomology at Wageningen University and Peter Wareing, Principle Food Safety Advisor, Leatherhead Food Research.

Organised by William Reed titles Meat Trades Journal, The Grocer, Food Manufacture and British Baker, the event will be held in London at Etc Venues, St Paul’s on 26 June 2015.
