Young butcher competition opens

Butchery apprentices are invited to take part in the 2016 Premier Young Butcher Competition hosted by William Reed Business Media at Foodex at the Birmingham NEC on 18–20 April next year. 

The National Federation of Meat and Food Traders (NFMFT) is looking for talented 18-23 year-old butcher apprentices to compete in six categories producing and displaying innovative Ready to Eat, Stuffed Roast, Seam Butchery, Barbecue and Kitchen Ready products.

NFMFT president Jim Sperring said: “Competing in Premier Young Butcher is a great opportunity and can be a life changing experience for any apprentice setting out on a career in butchery today.”

The Premier Young Butcher Competition is open to ALL 18-23 year old butchery apprentices in the UK and any employer believing they have an apprentice with good craft skills and good working practices should contact or log on to
