Heck recognised at business awards

A family-run sausage business has won the top accolade at the Telegraph Festival of Business awards. 

Heck launched in April 2013 and is run by husband-and-wife team Andrew and Debbie Keeble.

The award, in association with Amazon, celebrates the best British businesses that are able to demonstrate real innovation and growth.

The Heck range of sausages is now stocked in Tesco, Asda, Morrisons, Waitrose and Booths.

The company is also predicting a turnover of £12m for 2015/2016, up from £7m the year before.

Andrew Keeble told Meat Trades Journal: “It is really the fact we are a family-owned business that has far exceeded growth expectations.”

He said the brand has had a “fantastic” reception from the public and has brought new shoppers into the category.

“We are one of the most expensive sausages on the market and proud of it,” he added. “It is about quality.”

The sausage company produces its own sausages, which are all gluten-free, makes its own seasonings and has even produced a heart-shaped sausage for Valentine’s Day.
