The finalists for the 2016 Meat & Poultry Processing Awards have been unveiled.

Finalists for the categories include top names from the meat industry, such as ABP UK, Moy Park, Tulip, Kezie Foods and Cranswick. Nine categories will be awarded on the night, with the overall Processing Business of the Year award being chosen from the winners of the Retail Processor, Small Processor and Foodservice Processor categories.

Rod Addy, editor of Meat Trades Journal, said: “The Meat & Poultry Processing Awards recognise leaders in the field of the meat industry in areas such as environmental initiatives, product development, exports and plant management. It has been a privilege to hear from entrants about the work and thought that has gone into these and other parts of their business. The judging process has been extremely stringent, so it’s a testament to the sector that we have so many strong finalists this year, each deserving recognition in their own right. I would urge everyone to take their place at the awards ceremony itself, not just to hear the best ideas from their peers, but also to network and enjoy a fantastic and well-earned evening’s entertainment at the prestigious Manchester venue.”

The Meat & Poultry Processing Awards will be held in the Radisson Blu Edwardian Hotel, Manchester, on 3 March 2016, and are seen as a highlight in the meat processing industry’s calendar. The event is sponsored by AHDB Beef & Lamb, Bizerba, Multivac, Reiser and Sealed Air, while entertainment is sponsored by Systems Integration and Acoura.
