Andrew Kuyk announced as new Provision Trade Federation director general

The Provision Trade Federation (PTF) has announced the appointment of Andrew Kuyk CBE as its new director general.

He will commence his role from 6 April, following a handover period with departing director general Terry Jones.

Kuyk was previously director of sustainability at the UK Food and Drink Federation (FDF) from 2009-2014, leading work on resource efficiency, food security and climate change to help reduce the environmental impacts of food production while meeting growing global demand. Prior to that, he was a career civil servant, dealing with a range of food, agricultural, trade and environmental issues in the UK and at EU and international levels, including postings to the UK Permanent Representation in Brussels (UKREP) and the British Embassy in Paris.

Rob Nugent, chairman of the PTF, said: “Andrew’s appointment will allow the organisation to build on the important work of the last 18 months to renew the PTF. His skills and experience will help us to grow the organisation, deliver improved services to members and enhance our profile with policy-makers.”

On his appointment, Kuyk said: “I am thrilled to be joining the PTF at such a critical time for the industry. Despite the tough trading conditions, this is an exciting period for the organisation where we need to make a meaningful difference for our member companies. I look forward to meeting with PTF members in due course and seeing as many as possible at the PTF Annual Dinner at the end of February.”
