Deadline for Butcher’s Shop of the Year Awards entries extended

Due to overwhelming demand, this year’s entry deadline for Butcher’s Shop of the Year Awards 2016 has been extended.

Butchers have until Friday 19 August to get their entries in for one of the highlights in the butchery calendar.

The awards recognise excellence in craft butchery and winners enter an exclusive group, representing the best of British butchery. As well as the regional and halal categories, butchers can enter categories such as New Butchery Business, Innovation of the Year, Farm Shop and two new awards – Food Hall Butchery Business of the Year and Online Butchery Business of the Year.

The event takes place on Monday 7 November at the iconic Banking Hall in the city of London.

Last year saw Simpsons Butchers, based in Heckington, Lincolnshire, pick up the Butcher’s Shop of the Year Award 2015, after successfully securing the Midlands & East of England regional title.

Owner Gary Simpson said winning was a “great morale-booster for all the staff” and that it was a “great feeling to make the finals and an unbelievable experience to win the top award”.

Gary’s business has gone from strength to strength since winning and yours could too. To enter, log on here.
