Hot dog company secures contract with the Welsh Rugby Union

Mom’s Fabulous Hot Dogs has entered into a new partnership with the Principality Stadium in Cardiff.

The four-year deal will see the hot dog specialist brand being served from all hot food counters throughout the stadium. The company prides itself on using only prime meat and traditional smoking techniques to develop a product to its own recipes.

“We are thrilled to have been chosen as the official hot dog supplier for the Principality Stadium by the WRU [Welsh Rugby Union],” said Nick Pagett, managing director of Mom’s Fabulous Foods.

“This reflects the importance the operator places on serving high-quality products to its customers and this is something which is highly regarded by Mom’s in our day-to-day business too. We are looking forward to a very successful partnership.”

'A welcome addition’

As part of the deal, the hot dog supplier will have an active presence throughout the stadium, with branding alongside the pitch-side perimeter, middle-tier digital display boards and other media activity throughout the location.

“Mom’s Fabulous Frankfurters are a welcome addition to the vibrant menu available at each of the 27 food counters around the Principality Stadium’s three tiers and 74,500 seats,” added Principality Stadium general hospitality and retail manager Craig Walsh.

“Over 9,000 hot dogs can be sold on a given international match-day in Cardiff, alongside over 4,000 Peter’s pies and pasties – with a variety of pizzas and traditional faggots and peas also popular – all washed down with around 60,000 pints of beer. We are confident that these high-quality gourmet hot dogs will, at £3.80, be a huge hit with supporters when served by over 1,000 catering staff at public food outlets around the ground.”

The deal was made in collaboration with Welsh pie manufacturer Peter’s Foods, after it acquired Mom’s Fabulous Foods earlier this year. “We are excited and proud about the deal as it marks the strong working relationship with an existing customer of ours, whom we are proud to be affiliated with,” said John McAughtrie, sales director of Peter’s Food Service. “We look forward to delivering the record sales to rugby fans at the Principality Stadium.”

Customers will have the option of adding a selection of three sauces to their hot dogs: Tasty Tommy, Mellow Mustard and Bad Boy Chilli.
