Asda recalls Szechuan Chicken

Retailer Asda has issued a recall on its limited edition Szechuan Chicken because the product failed to declare the presence of barley as an allergen in the product.

The recall affects products in a 400g pack size with a use-by date of 29 April 2017. No other Asda products are known to be affected.

Asda has advised shoppers with an allergy or intolerance to barley who bought the product not to consume it and to return it to the store of purchase for a full refund.

Relevant allergy support organisations have been contacted by Asda, informing members about the recall. Point-of-sale notices have been issued to the supermarket’s customers explaining why the product is being recalled and informing them what to do if they have bought the product.

The allergen alert reads: “If you have purchased Asda limited edition Szechuan Chicken please bring it back to your nearest store where you will be given a full refund. You do not need your receipt. We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused.”

For further information, it has been advised that Asda customer relations is called on 0800 952 0101.
