Holland’s Pies targets Father’s Day for sales opportunities

Lancashire-based Holland’s Pies is aiming to tap into the Father’s Day market this year.

According to research carried out by the firm, over a quarter (28%) of UK dads said they would rather have their favourite pie over a fancy gift for the special occasion. “This research really does show that it’s the thought that counts, rather than an expensive or extravagant gift this Father’s Day,” said Leanne Holcroft, brand manager at Holland’s Pies.

“It’s great to see that something as simple as their favourite pie is the way to dad’s heart, and will be especially welcome news to those who are a little strapped for cash.”

The research also indicated that 14% of those polled would like to receive a relaxing massage for Father’s Day, with 27% opting for a pint at the local pub.

To meet the desires of the nation’s fathers, Holland’s Pies is targeting them as 18 June comes around. It has recently launched its Micro Pies, available at Tesco stores nationwide at £1.50. The individually boxed pies come in two flavours and can be microwaved in a matter of minutes, catering to the convenience market. The pies are available in: chicken, leek and bacon, made from British and Irish chicken, smoked bacon and sliced leeks, seasoned with pepper, parsley and thyme in a creamy sauce; and a steak and ale option, made from slow-cooked tender prime steak in a light ale gravy.

Furthermore, Holland’s Pies suggested its Guinness range and frozen classics would make suitable gifts this Father’s Day.
