Spar recalls chicken tikka over glass contamination

Retailer Spar has issued a recall of its chicken tikka chunks over fears they may contain small pieces of glass, presenting a safety risk.

The products come in a 140g pack with a use-by date of 19 May 2017. No other Spar products are known to be affected.

If the product has been purchased, it has been advised that it is not consumed. Instead, it should be returned to the store where it was purchased for a full refund. Point-of-sale notices have been displayed in all retail stores selling the product, explaining to consumers why the chicken tikka chunks are being withdrawn, and offering advice on what to do if they have been bought.
