2 Sisters appoints new livestock procurement head

Processor 2 Sisters has appointed Prys Morgan as its new head of livestock procurement at Merthyr Tydfil.

Morgan will be responsible for beef and lamb procurement at 2 Sisters’ largest red meat plant and for developing the company’s “in2grate” production system.

He has rejoined 2 Sisters after a two-year spell at the Welsh red meat promotional and marketing body Hybu Cig Cymru (HCC).

Morgan has more than 20 years’ experience of working within the red meat industry sharing knowledge, building collaborative relationships and buying livestock.

He said: “I am really looking forward to being part of the 2 Sisters red meat team again. I see it as a challenging role but one where I believe there is an opportunity to advance and develop relationships with both suppliers and customers.”

John Dracup, procurement director at 2 Sisters red meat, added: “Prys understands the sector and brings a wealth of knowledge that will beef up our procurement and agricultural teams.

“We want to further strengthen our relationships with our valued producers and Prys has the skills and experience to drive this forward.”
