New chairwoman joins Provision Trade Federation

Rob Nugent, Direct Table Foods’ operations director, has stepped down as chairman of the Provision Trade Federation (PTF) to make way for newly-elected chairwoman Liz Sutton, founder and director of Delamere Dairy.

Sutton was chosen to be chairman by the PTF’s governing body on 21 June. Her replacement as vice-chair has yet to be announced.

“I am thrilled to be appointed PTF’s chair and the appointment is made all the more special as the first goat dairy representative to hold senior office within the federation,” said Sutton.

“There are challenging times ahead and I am looking forward to working with the director general [Andrew Kuyk], PTF colleagues and our members to take forward the organisation’s work.”

Sutton was appointed PTF vice-chair in 2015 and Nugent was elected chairman in 2016. As the new chair, Sutton will head up the PTF Council.

Sutton and her husband Roger began milking goats in 1985, marking the beginning of Delamere Dairy. The business now trades with UK retailers and international customers. She remains a director of the company.
