Lucas Ingredients launches ‘Smokehouse’ burger mixes

Lucas Ingredients is bringing the smokey taste of the US deep south to butchers’ burger offers, launching Tennessee and Louisiana ‘Smokehouse’ burger mix lines as the first in a broader range of mixes.

“We always work hard to ensure that our products meet current market trends and respond to developments in consumer wants and tastes,” said Lucas Ingredients sales development manager Judith Johnston. “The market for smoked products and smoke flavours is growing rapidly and we’re delighted to introduce Smokehouse at this time. The first two products in the range are our Louisiana and Tennessee Burger Mixes and these will be followed by other launches in the coming months.

“The Tennessee Burger is a blend of smoke and sweet notes, with visual red peppers in the mix, so it looks great raw and cooked. The Louisiana Burger is a great combination of smoke, sweet and tomato notes with a final kick of chilli. Customers are already singing the praises of the new mixes and we’re getting very positive feedback. Check out our Facebook and Twitter feeds to see more!”

In addition to Smokehouse, as the summer gets into full swing, Lucas Ingredients is also launching Three Lucas Butchers Classic best-selling complete sausage mixes in larger pack sizes: 5 x 2.5kg. Butchers Classic Cracked Black Pepper, Lincolnshire and Cumberland are all available in the new packs, which are big enough to make a 20kg finished batch, the company confirmed. All three varieties continue to be available in the regular pack sizes of 5 x 510g (Cumberland) and 5 x 567g (Lincolnshire and Cracked Black Pepper).
