Meat companies go for gold

Meat companies across the nation have been honoured at the Great Taste Awards 2017. 

The awards are designed to celebrate the highest-quality food products across the nation. Of the 12,366 products entered this year, only 165 were awarded the highest three-stars rating, several of which were from the meat industry.

The products that finish in the Top 50 across all categories will be in for the chance to be named Supreme Champion, announced on Monday 4 September at the Intercontinental Park Lane Hotel, London. Last year’s winner Supreme Champion was awarded to Hannan Meats of Northern Ireland for its Glenarm Shorthorn 4 Rib Roast. The 2015 winner was James Whelan Butchers, from the Republic of Ireland, for its Beef Dripping.
