Last call for Butcher’s Shop of the Year

Fancy your chances against the best in the country? Well, you have until Monday 14 August to get your entries into Butcher’s Shop of the Year 2017.

There are 11 main categories and two specialist categories – Innovation of the Year and Young Butcher of the Year – in this year’s competition.

Last year’s winner was Wiltshire-based Walter Rose & Son. Managing partner Steve Cook said: “It’s an amazing achievement. To win a competition like this, an accolade that everyone wants to win, is phenomenal.”

Rod Addy, editor of Meat Trades Journal, urged butchers to get their entries in. “This competition recognises the best butchers from around the country and the hard work they put into their businesses. To be named as a regional or overall winner is a tremendous accolade and a massive boost to a business.”
