Meat Business Women confirms venue

Tallow Chandlers Hall in London has been confirmed as the venue for the fourth Meat Business Women forum, taking place on Wednesday, 4 October.

The event is designed to offer a platform for women across the meat industry to network and share experiences. This year’s speakers will be Margaret Mountford, lawyer and chair of the Argent Group Europe, which owns catering butcher’s Fairfax Meadow. Mountford also found fame for advising Lord Alan Sugar on the BBC’s The Apprentice.

She will be joined by Cranswick’s group HR director Miranda Walker. A presentation will be given to delegates providing an overview of the current meat market.

“We are now in our third year and the tremendous response we have had from previous events demonstrates that women in the meat industry clearly see the benefits our networking forum can provide,” said Laura Ryan, the events founder and strategy director for the Agriculture & Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) Beef & Lamb.

“We feel it is important to nurture female talent already in the sector, assist in making it attractive to women and offer them a genuine networking platform. Having Margaret join our panel of speakers is a real coup and I am sure she will inspire our members and offer food for thought as to why women are good for business and business is good for women.”
