VIDEO: Why Britain’s Butcher’s Shop of the Year is supporting Big Sausage Week

With the Big Sausage Week just over one month away, Meat Trades Journal caught up with Walter Rose & Sons, voted Butcher’s Shop of the Year, to find out why it is important to support the event. 

The Big Sausage Week, which runs from 31 October to 6 November, is designed to provide a platform for the industry to shout about what makes the British sausage such a timeless classic. To celebrate the sausage, we’re calling on retailers to submit flavour ideas, recipes and marketing tips to help get the public excited about the event. We will showcase the best in our pages and online and you can join the conversation on social media using the hashtag #BigSausageWeek.

Big Sausage Week leads up to Meat Trades Journal’s Champion of Champion’s competition, which will take place on 6 November. If you have won a recognised sausage competition between 1 July 2016 and 1 September 2017 and think you have the best sausage in the nation, then you have until 25 September to enter the awards.
