New Worshipful Company Master announced

The Worshipful Company of Butchers has elected Geoff Gillo as its new Master. 

Gillo has been in the Livery of the Worshipful Company of Butchers since 1989.

A qualified accountant, he worked in the meat industry between 1984 and 1991 for Borthwicks and Vestey Group as the finance director at British Beef Company. He was commercial director and then finance director at J H Dewhurst.

He then returned to the logistics world joining Tibbett & Britten Group in 1992 becoming European commercial and financial director in 1998, and in 2004 he joined John Harvey CBE in founding The Keswick Enterprises Group.

Gillo is married has three children and seven grandchildren. He is a great supporter of charities with his current focus on: Lifelites, a charity providing specialist entertainment, educational and assistive technology packages to over 9,000 children and young people with life-limiting, life-threatening and disabling conditions in children’s hospices; the Tbap Foundation for children up to the age of 16 with special educational needs; and the Deal Memorial Bandstand which is in memory of the 11 bandsmen killed by the IRA in 1989.

He is also a liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Carmen.
