Success at latest Meat Business Women event

More than 100 women from the meat industry gathered at the latest Meat Business Women at Tallow Chandlers Hall in London earlier this week.

The event featured presentations from Lucy Chapman, consumer insight director at Kantar Worldpanel, who spoke about the changing meat market, and Miranda Walker, group HR director at Cranswick Country Foods, who spoke about the company’s efforts to attract new people into the meat industry.

The keynote speaker was former star of TV programme The Apprentice Margaret Mountford, who detailed her experiences of often being the only female in meetings and as chair of the Argent Group Europe, which owns Fairfax Meadow.

Event organiser Laura Ryan, strategy director at AHDB Beef & Lamb, said the event was the best one so far: “There was a full house and the positivity in the room was fantastic.”

Ryan said the event had attracted a lot of interest from the foodservice sector for future Meat Business Women events.

The forum was created to offer a platform for women from across the meat industry to network and share experiences. This was the fourth meeting of the group.

The next Meat Business Women event will take place on Wednesday 16 May 2018. There is an opportunity to book now for an early bird discount.
