Grimsby butcher ceases trading

John Pettit & Sons butchers, established in 1892 and based in Grimsby, stopped trading last week with immediate effect.

The development comes after the company lost significant catering contracts, which it has not been able to recover.

“The company which ran butchers’ shops in Grimsby and, until recently, Cleethorpes for many years and also supplied meat and sausages to the catering trade over a wider area has engaged Kingsbridge Corporate Solutions of Grimsby and will be wound up,” said a statement from Kingsbridge Consultancy Solutions, which is acting on behalf of the butcher’s following its closure.

Andy Johnson, managing director of John Pettit & Sons, thanked the business’ many loyal staff and customers, past and present, for their support.
