Big success for Big Sausage Week!

As Big Sausage Week comes to a close, we’ve been overwhelmed with the level of response that we’ve received from everyone.

Bates of Atherstone in Warwickshire embraced the sausage spirit and used the week to showcase ‘Brady’s Breakfast Banger!'

Inspired by the great British fry-up, the sausage contains dry-cured smoked bacon, button mushrooms, fresh tomatoes and black pudding. The ingredients are diced and chopped, before being filled into a hog skin and linked by hand.

Meanwhile, frozen food distributor Central Foods put together the ideal winter warmer, a sausage, sweet potato and red onion pumpkin wrap, perfect to enjoy whilst watching the fireworks!

Competitions were also rife during the week. SA Vaughan Family Butchers in Wales put on a sausage-eating competition, and Higginsons of Grange in Cumbria offered customers the chance to win their height in sausages.

Down in Cornwall, the Kernow Sausage King has been celebrating the Big Sausage Week by going on his very own '7 Days in Sausage Heaven Tour'. Gavin Roberts of the company was even on BBC Cornwall promoting the week, while the Q Guild’s very own Claire Holland spoke to Chris Evans on Radio 2 about what makes the perfect sausage.

Take a look below at some of the other exciting things you have been getting up to.
