Gove to tighten livestock trade

The government thinks Brexit is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to rewrite animal welfare law. And part of this bold vision is the plan to “support more humane methods of farming and restricting the live export of animals”. This is what a representative of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) told Meat Trades Journal recently.
